MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Airport Cadet Flight of the Civil Air Patrol has announced the following cadets have received promotions and appointments during a ceremony held on Feb. 2.
Cadet Airmen Jenna Jerkowitz and Griffin Davies have been promoted to Cadet Airmen 1st Class upon completing the General Hap Arnold Achievement of the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program.
Cadet Airman 1st Class Carson Sanchez has been promoted to Cadet Senior Airman upon completion of the Colonel Mary Feik Achievement of the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program.
Cadet Master Sergeant Gabriel Hoskins has been promoted to Cadet Senior Master Sergeant upon completion of the General Jimmy Doolittle Achievement of the Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program.

In addition, C/SMsgt Hoskins has been appointed as the unit First Sergeant.
Cadet Chief Master Sergeant Nathaniel Hoskins has been promoted to Cadet 2nd Lieutenant upon completion of the Brigadier General Billy Mitchell Achievement and has also been named as the first Cadet Commander of the recently formed unit.
Civil Air Patrol cadets reaching this level of the Cadet Program and decide to enlist in the US Air Force upon graduation, may do so at the higher rank and pay grade of E-3.
The Ohio Wing, Civil Air Patrol has awarded year end accolades to the following adult volunteers of the Knox County Airport Cadet Flight.
1st Lieutenant Kimberly Cox, CAP, has been named the Ohio Wing Administrative Officer of the Year, awarded to the outstanding Administrative or Personnel Officer who has contributed the most to the administration of their unit.
1st Lieutenant John Morgan, CAP, has been awarded the Ohio Wing Colonel Robert Payton Public Affairs Officer of the Year for his outstanding actions, initiatives and management of the unit Public Affairs Program.
Senior Member Daniel Wilson has been awarded the Ohio Wing Frank G Brewer, Sr. Aerospace Education Officer of the Year, for his significant involvement and contribution in the Civil Air Patrol Aerospace Education mission.
Flight Commander Chief Master Sergeant Craig Cox has been awarded Ohio Wing Senior NCO of the Year for his outstanding leadership, self-discipline, professional mentorship and “Service Before Self” attitude.
Lt. Morgan and SM Wilson will represent the Ohio Wing for the Great Lakes Region awards, which include the award recipients from the Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin Wings of CAP.
The Civil Air Patrol Cadet Program, for youth ages 12-18, focuses on Leadership, Character Development, Aerospace Education and Physical Fitness.
