Lyonel Nichols “Nick” Mullin, 92, of Fredericktown passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Licking Memorial Hospital in Newark under the care of Hospice of Central Ohio. He was born on April 9, 1933 in Fredericktown to the late Lyonel B. and Sarah Kathryn “Kitty” (Trott) Mullin.
Nick worked for Cooper Bessemer, the Foot Foundry, the Associated Libraries and was the owner/operator of L.N.M. Motor Sales. He was a member of the Fredericktown First Presbyterian Church. Nick was the sexton of Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown for over 20 years.
Nick is survived by his sons, Dave Mullin of Fredericktown, Mark (Deb) Mullin of Hilliard, and Doug Mullin of Newark; grandchildren, Kathryn “Kate” Welch of Mount Vernon and Jordyn Mullin of Hilliard; great grandchildren, Chyann Welch of Fredericktown and Dakota Welch of Fredericktown; a brother, Michael Mullin of Cincinnati; and his former wife, Marilyn Mullin of Fredericktown.
In addition to his parents, Nick was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Marie (Armstrong) Mullin.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the Fredericktown First Presbyterian Church, 17 South Main St., Fredericktown with Rev. Michael Mullin, Rev. Pamela Gillett and Rev. Nancy Revennaugh officiating. A meal will follow the funeral service at the church. The family will observe a private burial in Forest Cemetery, Fredericktown.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Fredericktown First Presbyterian Church or to Hospice of Central Ohio.
