Miguel Natele Torres, age 64, of Fredericktown, Ohio, left this earth to be with his son Shawn and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 20, 2026, at 4:29 a.m. at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, following complications from a stroke suffered on December 27, 2025.
Miguel was born on September 25, 1961, in Montebello, California. He was a wonderful husband, father, and “Papaw” to his five cherished grandchildren: Damien Torres, Kory Torres, Elijah Fanelli, Evie Torres, and Shiloh Keen.
He is survived by his loving wife of eight years, Renee Hacker Torres; his seven children, Ashley Fanelli (Daniel), Audrey Corker, Lilyahna Torres, Anthony Torres, Joseph Torres, Richard Fendley (Tanya), and Matthew Fendley; his loving sister Cheryl Gonzalez (Serafin); and his brother Robert “Bobby” Torres. He is also survived by his constant and faithful companions, his fur babies Stormie, Memphis, and Winston, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his son Shawn Michael Torres, who passed in 2016; his mother Dolores Torres; his father Miguel Torres; his sister Sammy Torres; and his brother Anthony “Tony” Torres.
Miguel went by Mike, Michael, and Miguel—but to his wife, he was her Michael. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for six years and was a proud veteran. Throughout his life, he traveled the world and spent many years as an over-the-road truck driver.
In 2002, Miguel survived a massive heart attack that doctors believed would take his life. Given a prognosis of living only until age 55, he defied the odds and lived to be 64. He was taken off the road in 2009 and had been on permanent disability since that time.
Miguel loved his family, his country, his dogs, and his beautiful Belle—his 2017 Harley-Davidson Softail Classic, a gift from his wife for his 60th birthday. He was a proud member of the OHMM and Punishers brotherhoods.
He lived every day as a gift and gave his heart and soul to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He deeply believed in the Bible and read scripture often. His sense of humor, deep loyalty, and unconditional love for his family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
There will be no services. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Miguel Natele Torres.
