Kathryn Jean (Graf) Everhard, beloved wife, mother, and nana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10th, at the age of 78, surrounded by the love of her family. Her devoted husband and three children were by her side.
Kathryn was the cherished wife of Larry Roy Everhard, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, family, and unwavering support for one another.
She was a proud and loving mother to three children: Michelle (Everhard) Imler and her husband Kermit; Aaron Everhard and his wife Kerrie, and their sons Owen and Mattox; and Stephen Everhard and his wife Annie, and their children Jocelyn and Wesley. Kathryn took great joy in being a nana, and her grandchildren were truly the light of her life.
Kathryn dedicated 25 years of her professional life to teaching pre-kindergarten. She believed deeply in the importance of early childhood education and took pride in helping children build a strong foundation for learning. Among her proudest achievements was authoring the grant for one of the first public school pre-kindergarten programs in the state of Ohio, helping pave the way for expanded early education opportunities.
She is also survived by her siblings: sister JoAnn (Graf) Boron and her husband Larry; brother John Graf and his partner Lisa; and sister Mary Beth (Graf) Pollard and her husband Fred.
Kathryn will be remembered for her gentle presence, kind heart, and deep love for her family. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the children she taught, and the family she held so dear. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Services are being privately held with immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Wilderness Center, Wilmot Ohio or Kokosing Nature Preserve, Gambier Ohio.
