Edward James Roskowski, age 97, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at his residence in Mount Vernon, Ohio. He was born on August 25, 1928, in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, to the late Alexander and Mary (Zima) Roskowski.
After graduating high school, Eddie joined the United States Army and served his country proudly during the Korean Conflict. During his military career, Eddie was in special services as a trick roper and travelled from base to base entertaining the troops. After his military career, Eddie travelled the country trick roping, he was even in the Rose Parade. He is a member of Saint John The Baptist Catholic Parish, attending Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon, Ohio.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Jane (Chadil) Roskowski; children, Toby Roskowski, Jason (Donna) Roskowski, Stephanie Goosen and Paula (Craig) Stangis; grandchildren, Jerry Lee and Misty; several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Eddie is preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister.
Calling hours will be held from 9:00 am to 9:45 am at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home; 619 E. High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio, 43050. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at10:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church; 303 E. High Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio, 43050, with the Rev. Father James Farnan as the celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery with military honors by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
