Caroline Hamblin Tucker ’53, Knox Life Trustee, beloved author, teacher, mother, wife, and friend, passed away peacefully in Chesterfield at Brandermill Woods on October 25, 2025, surrounded by family and friends.

A 51-year resident of the Greater Richmond Area, Mrs. Tucker was married to the late Dr. James F. Tucker (1924–2016), a Senior Vice President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, and the first African American to serve in that role and at that level.

Caroline Tucker was vibrant, creative, and wise – a storyteller, a truth-teller, and a lifelong fighter for social justice.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth and Lauren Tucker, her nephews, including Neil and his wife Christine, and their children.

Caroline will be interred alongside her husband at Arlington National Cemetery, and a celebration of her life will be planned for early March 2026.
