MOUNT VERNON – As the new year began, the City of Mount Vernon switched to CivicPlus software to manage agendas and minutes for its many public meetings, from City Council to the Municipal Planning Commission, Board of Zoning Appeals, Utilities Commission, and more.
The new software streamlines the automation of the city’s agenda and meeting minutes management processes and enables residents to access these public records conveniently. The switch is also a logical and cost-saving extension of a change the city made in 2025, when it updated its website to use CivicPlus software.
Residents and anyone else seeking access to the meeting agendas and minutes of the city’s public bodies may easily do so by visiting the city’s website, where multiple links on various pages will take them to the CivicPlus meeting management platform, beginning with the “Agendas & Minutes” button in the center of the city’s homepage (mtvernonoh.gov). There, they will find all the same information that was available via the city’s previous software.
However, it is now easier to sign up to receive email notifications whenever meeting agendas and minutes for the various public bodies are published, generally within days before or after a meeting.
Users may click the button in the upper-right corner of the Agendas & Minutes page to first create an account, then sign up for notifications, all at no cost. To discontinue notifications, users can return to the page and toggle off the ones they no longer want.
