Louise Marie (Cline) Johnson of Mount Vernon, Ohio passed away peacefully on Saturday December 27th, 2025, at Knox Community Hospital at age 95.
Louise grew up in Brinkhaven where she met her lifelong friend Iris. She loved the small town and being outdoors. After moving from Brinkhaven to Mount Vernon as a young adult she met, married, and started a family with James L. Bywaters. Amidst raising her four children, Louise found a love of teaching and helping children at Knox County HeadStart.
After being a hard-working single mother for a while, Louise married her husband of 32 years, Ray. Louise loved to read, especially her Bible, garden, can, cook, bake, and spend time with family, taking her grandkids on many trips. Her faith was very important to her, and she was a devoted member of First Church of God throughout her adult life. In the latter part of her life, she reconnected with a high school friend Junior. She stayed very active, spending movie and girl’s nights with friends Iris and Jane, lots of family time enjoying her many grandkids, great-grandkids, and even great-great-grandkids, and her nieces Barb and Linda. Louise’s love of people and accumulating wisdom to help people was evident to all who knew her.
Louise is survived by her brothers James Cline, Jerry (Jackie) Cline; her children Robert Bywaters (Nancy), Diana Peck (Ron), and Joe Bywaters; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Sadie (Hoagland) Cline; sister Eileen Blubaugh; brothers Ralph (Tina) Cline, Walter (Virginia) Cline Jr, and Robert (Elsie) Cline; husband Ezekiel Ray Johnson Jr; son Eric Bywaters; and one grandchild.
