Gary Alan Hendrickson, age 73, lost his battle with cancer and passed away peacefully in his home on December 7, 2025. He was surrounded by his daughter and his sisters.
Gary was born July 3, 1952, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. He graduated from Utica High School in 1971. He retired from the Continental Can Company and AMG. He was a member of the Rainbow Vans club and more recently the Newark Rodders.
Gary was an avid collector. He has an impressive inventory of everything Star Wars. But his true passion was cars. He was a master model car builder and has an extensive collection of Hot Wheels and many other types of cars. He owned and restored two vintage cars. If it was about cars, he was interested.
He is survived by daughters Andrea (Nathan) Orr and Rebecca (Heath) Manning, 4 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, sisters April Clark, Debra (Rick) Stringer, and Linda (Chuck) Chaloupka, many nieces and nephews and his dog Peaches.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie (Lahmon) and Gordon “Dynie” Fawcett and his wife of 45 years Virginia “Gigi” (Dehman) Hendrickson.
A memorial service is planned for a later date. Donations may be made in Gary’s name to Ohio’s Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd., Newark, OH 43055.
