Larry Douglas Littleton, 82, passed away peacefully at his Bellville home on November 28, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

Born May 7, 1943, in Smoky Valley, Kentucky, Larry was the son of Ersel and Lodena (Gillam) Littleton. He graduated from Bellville High School in 1963—the final class before the school’s consolidation into Clear Fork High School. On March 29, 1964, he married the love of his life, Dwayne Carver, and together they raised three children in the Bellville valley.

A hardworking and dedicated provider, Larry spent 24 years with Westinghouse until its closing. True to his tireless work ethic, he often held two jobs, notably driving for Purolator and Airborn shipping and working as a mechanic for Randy’s F&W. His strong faith anchored his life, and he was a longtime, devoted member of Bellville Freewill Baptist Church, where he volunteered countless hours helping wherever he was needed.

In 1970, Larry and Dwayne made their home in Bellville, where they ran a small farm. Larry raised hogs and cattle—some for the family, some for sale—and tended to fields of hay and corn. Resourceful and skilled with his hands, he was an exceptional mechanic. He took pride in finding newer models that had been wrecked or totaled, rebuilding them from the engine to the final bodywork. His craftsmanship was unmatched, and his love of cars—especially Fords—was known to everyone. Larry could identify the make and model of a vehicle from a hundred yards away.

When he wasn’t working or tinkering on a project, Larry loved to travel. He visited all but two of the continuous United States, and he enjoyed attending car shows whenever he had the chance.

Larry will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, generous spirit, and deep love for his family.

He is survived by his wife Dwayne Littleton of Bellville, children Doug (Sally) Littleton of Bellville, Dwight (Holly) Littleton of Louisville, Kentucky, and Tammy (Ron) Hicks of Bellville, grandchildren Ben, Andy (Paige), Rebecca, Laura, and Shawn Littleton, Cameron Hicks, Nicholas (Dayna) Hicks, and Faith (Jackson) Myer; a great grandson Elliot Myer and a brother Don Littleton of Mansfield, along with many extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son David Littleton, grandson Scott Littleton, and a sister-in-law Sylvia Littleton.

Friends may call Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 4 pm to 7 pm in Fredericktown Freewill Baptist Church, 102 Columbus Road, where the funeral service will be held Friday at 11 am. Pastor Aaron Boggs will officiate and burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery.
