Mindy (Matheny) Rose, 61, of Crestline, passed away at the OSU James Cancer Hospital on October 31, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mindy was born on April 22, 1964, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, to the late Dean and Mae Matheny. Throughout her childhood she was an avid horse rider and enjoyed competing at the Knox County fair. Into her adulthood; she became very committed to State Farm Insurance and she enjoyed meeting new people and took pride in helping the residents of both Knox and Richland County. In her free time, she loved riding motorcycles. While she enjoyed the rides close to home, she was always looking forward to the next cross-country adventure. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially sitting around a campsite. Mindy truly loved life to the fullest through the simple pleasures of life.
Mindy took pride in her faith. She was an active member in New Beginnings Free Will Baptist Church, Mansfield, Ohio. She treasured her congregants and Pastor Brian.
She is survived by her loving and supportive companion, Gregg McBride. Her brothers, Bob (Vickie) Matheny and Daryl (Sheryl) Matheny. Niece Lindsey Matheny (Jamie Wallace). Bonus son and daughter, Jeff Rose and Tika Rose. Many grandchildren that she cherished and loved to spend time with.
She is proceeded in death by her parents and her late husband, Joe Rose. As well as, throughout her life, several rescued Mastiffs, that she dearly loved.
The family is grateful for Galion Community Hospital and The OSU James Hospital for their support and efforts during this battle.
Friends may call on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel (11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd. Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050) from 11am-1pm. A service will follow, beginning at 1pm, with Pastor Brian Phillips officiating. Burial will take place at Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
