Ashland was not a welcoming host in an Ohio Cardinal Conference reunion on Friday night.

The Arrows rolled past Mount Vernon 56-21 in a Division II, Region 7 playoff opener.

The seventh-seeded Arrows (10-1) will move on to play at No. 2-seed Columbus DeSales next week.

Mount Vernon, the region’s 10th seed, finished the season with a 6-5 record.

Ashland opened with a 14-7 advantage through the first quarter and widened the gap to 42-13 at intermission.

Ashland pulled to a 56-21 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
