George Raymond Levengood, age 81, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on October 23, 2025, at his nephew’s home in Tiffin, Ohio.

He was born in Dover, Ohio, on May 13, 1944, George grew up in the Fredericktown area and dedicated his life to farming, taking over the family dairy that became known as Levengood Home View Farm. He was a proud lifelong dairyman and was actively involved in the farming community, holding memberships in the National Holstein Association and the Farm Bureau.

George was a proud Army veteran who served in Vietnam, a chapter of his life that he held close to his heart. He was known for his kindness and generosity, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. George’s friendly nature made him a cherished companion to many, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

On March 31, 1979, George married his loving wife, Sue Levengood, celebrating 45 wonderful years together. He is survived by his wife, Sue; his brother John (Joyce) Levengood of Vail, Arizona; half-sister Jackie (Chris) Murawski of Fisher, Indiana; brother-in-law Ed (Beth) Snavely of Fredericktown, OH; and sister-in-law Sally (Tom) Simpkins of Hiwassee, VA. He was a beloved uncle to Jeff (Lisa) Levengood, Joe (Lisa) Levengood, Jim (Jayne) Levengood, and Jerry (Marylynn) Levengood. 9 Great nieces and nephews and 3 great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Levengood; mother, Darlene Herron; and stepmother, Anna-Ruth Levengood.

George was not only a devoted family man but also a friend to many, including special friends Jim Purdy, Chuck Boone, Mark Boone, and Othar Kennedy. He leaves behind his faithful companion, Petey, his beloved dog, who was always by his side.

A military graveside service, provided by the Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council, will be held at Fredericktown Forest Cemetery on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 11:00am.
