MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon Community Band and Knox Community Jazz Orchestra are once again joining forces to present “A Jack-o-Lantern Jubilee.”

The concert is slated for Friday, Oct. 24, at 6 p.m. at The Woodward Opera House. Admission is free, with donations being accepted at the door. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

“The Mount Vernon Community Band is looking forward to showcasing an array of spooky classics guaranteed to raise the hair on the back of your neck. From Beetlejuice to Verdi’s Dies Irae, there is sure to be something for everyone,” organizers said in an emailed press release.

The Knox Community Jazz Orchestra will get into the Halloween spirit by playing two arrangements that are new to their library, “Old Devil Moon” and “That Old Black Magic.” They will also feature a new singer with the group, Benjamin Priestland, a student at Kenyon College.
