On the morning of October 3, 2025, Betty Carol (Montgomery) Preston was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She passed at the age of 82 at her home, the place she loved most, just as she desired.
Betty was born December 14, 1942 in Paintsville, Kentucky to Obrie & Lennie (Cantrell) Montgomery. Betty graduated from Meade Memorial High School. Betty married Ernest Preston in 1965, who preceded her in death in 2022. Together they moved to Columbus in 1965 and Utica in 1975. Betty was proud of her work at Southern Bell and later DCSC, where she worked for over 20 years.
She is now reunited in glory with her parents, husband, and siblings Bill Montgomery, Bob Montgomery, Donna Colvin & Linda Montgomery, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Ron (Kim) Preston, John (Christy) Preston; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Preston, Lauren Preston, Alex (Tyler) Keith, Grant (Lindsey) Preston, Michaela Preston, Daniel Preston; and great-grandchildren, Kohen Keith, Karson Keith, Kyler Keith, and Francis Dunton; sisters, Elizabeth Honeycutt & Judy Daniel.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at Brucker-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N Main St, Utica. Funeral service will be Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 11 am with Pastor Aaron Boggs officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
