MOUNT VERNON — United Way of Knox County proudly celebrated its annual Day of Caring 2025, bringing together more than 100 volunteers to complete 11 impactful community projects across Mount Vernon.
Volunteer teams represented a wide cross-section of the community, including several of
United Way’s partner agencies—such as Knox County Head Start, Knox Public Health, and
New Directions—as well as local businesses, nonprofits, and educational institutions.
Participants included volunteers from Park National Bank, Kenyon College, Mount Vernon
High School, Kokosing Construction, Atlas Health and Wellness, The Alpha and Georgia
House, and Heating and Cooling Products.
Projects spanned a variety of local organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, The
Freedom Center, Ariel Foundation Park, Knox County Head Start, The Winter Sanctuary,
and SPI.
United Way of Knox County extends heartfelt thanks to all volunteers who donated their
time and energy to make this event possible. A special thank-you goes to Park National
