MOUNT VERNON — The search continues for 77-year-old Barbara Horn, who left her residence on McCament Road at approximately 12:04 p.m. on Sept. 2.
Horn has dementia and is considered at risk. Her family reported her missing yesterday afternoon.
According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, the search thus far has been to no avail. Deputies, volunteer organizations, and partner agencies concentrated their search efforts around the area where she was last known to be.
Resources included air support from OSP Aviation, drone and K-9 teams, and horseback units.
Deputies searched through the night. The KCSO will expand the search area by several miles this morning.
Horn left her McCament Road residence on foot. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, a black shawl, black pants, and black slip-on leather shoes.
She was not carrying a cell phone or money, but had a black purse containing identification.
Horn is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. She has gray and brown hair with blue eyes.
