Daniel L. Green, age 81, of Mount Vernon passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Newark.
He was born on February 23, 1944, in Utica, Ohio to the late Charles and Mary (Lovett) Green Sr. Daniel was the Maintenance Manager at the Hawthorn Apartments for many years. He enjoyed fishing and carpentry. Daniel was a life Member of Amvets Post 95 – Mount Vernon. He was a veteran serving in the United States Army.
He is survived by his sons, Shaun (Shannen) Green, Shane Green, Shannon Green; his grandchildren, Alan (Erica) Clark, Destini (Joey) Pernell, Kiana Green, Kaylee Green, Savanna Green, Chloe Green, Casandra Green, Elliott Green, Shaylyn Green, Brynn Green, Alex; his daughter-in-law Julie Green; and his best friend John Annett.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his brothers Charles Green Jr, James Green, John Green; and his sister Martha Sue Meadows.
A graveside service, with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veteran’s Council and the United States Army, will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, beginning at 11:00am in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Chaplain Daniel Hamman officiating.
