Mary Jo (Harris) Shrimplin, age 88, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at The Ohio Eastern Star Home.
She was born on July 2, 1936, in Mount Vernon to the late Everett and Blanche (Webster) Harris.
Mary Jo was a longtime treasurer for the Bladensburg Cemetery. She was also a former secretary for Bill Black Ford and a retired secretary for Ariel Corporation.
She is survived by her two nieces, Michele (Donald) Yarman and Holly (Brad) Mast; sisters-in-laws, Brenda Harris, Becky Smith, Victoria Bradshaw, Dixie Lee Folden and Virginia Shrimplin; brothers-in-laws, James and Ronald Shrimplin.
Mary Jo was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John M. Shrimplin in 2022; brother, Richard Harris; sisters-in-laws, Ruth Ann Whitt, Pat Gernell, Mary Curtis and Norma Crammer; brothers-in-laws, Gale Jr. and Grover Shrimplin.
Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 AM on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Snyder Funeral Homes-Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road in Mount Vernon. Graveside funeral services will follow in Bladensburg Cemetery with Pastor Ben McKinstry officiating.
