Bruce M. Behner Jr., age 68, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Knox Community Hospital.

Bruce continued to serve the medical community at Canonsburg Hospital, PA; Porter Memorial Hospital, IN; Nanticoke Hospital, DE and completing his career for 18 years with Knox Community Hospital, Ohio.

His colleague, Bruce White, shared this sentiment:

“Frankly, words are inadequate to describe the positive and significant impact he had on our growth and improvement during his tenure as Chief Operating Officer. Bruce never sought the spotlight for himself but preferred to accomplish things by leading and supporting those with Whom he worked. I consider myself so very fortunate to have had the great privilege of working alongside Bruce for so many years.”

Bruce is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol A. (Moorehead) Behner; two sons, Bruce M. Behner III and Chad Louis (Amy) Behner; three grandchildren, Ethan Behner, Dominic Behner, and Livi Mae Behner; along with a brother, Dan Behner.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patty.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Rd. in Mount Vernon.
