Jo Anne Carrier, 89, of Mount Vernon passed away on Monday morning, February 24, 2025 at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon. She was born on September 19, 1935 in Mount Vernon to the late Joseph and Marguerite (Taylor) Ferenbaugh.
Jo Anne was a member of the Saint John the Baptist Parish, attending Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon. After raising her two sons, Jo Anne worked for Hart’s Department store for many years. Jo Anne was an ardent sports fan, especially college football and the Michigan Wolverines.
Jo Anne is survived by her sons, Michael (Mary Jo Fanning) Carrier of Roanoke, VA and Gregg Carrier of Baghdad, Iraq; and a granddaughter, Nicole Carrier of Cleveland, OH.
In addition to her parents, Jo Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Carrier on November 8, 2009.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on March 15 at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
