Robert C. Nethers, age 77, of Mount Vernon passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at the Knox Community Hospital with his loving family at his side.
He was born on May 10, 1947, in Mount Vernon to the late Carl and Myrtle (Biggs) Nethers. Robert was employed and retired from Continental Can Corporation with over 32 years of service. He enjoyed classic cars, fishing and was a member of the Colonial City Moose Lodge #2555. But most of all, Robert loved the time he spent with his family and close friends.
He is survived by his wife, of over 53 years, Cheryl (Styers) Nethers; his daughters, Brandee (Ron) Writesel, Karen Nethers; his grandchildren, Trenton Bush, Zander Writesel, Kaiden Writesel, Jordis Writesel; and his nephew Jeff Bair.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sister Jeanne Bair; his brother-in-law Raymond Bair; and his nephew David Bair.
In keeping with Robert’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private graveside service, in Union Grove Cemetery, at a later date.
