Edward R. Carson, age 84, of Lexington, Ohio, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025, at his residence. He was born on October 10, 1940, to the late Edward and Verna (Sanborn) Carson.

Ed graduated from Linden-McKinley High School in Columbus, Ohio, in 1959. He worked for the Timken Company in many roles over 42 years, retiring as Quality Control Analyst. Ed enjoyed golfing, coaching his sons in baseball, staying in Florida during the Ohio winters and rooting for his Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a member of the Timken Retirement Club, Commodore Boat Club and Colonial City Moose Lodge #2555. Ed and his wife Bonnie attended Cornerstone Community Church in Fredericktown, Ohio. Most of all Ed loved being around his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Combs) Bates; children, Edward (Kris) Carson, Daniel (Lori) Carson, Andrew Carson; grandchildren, Kirk (Katie) Carson, Danielle Carson, Alexa (Jeramy Pinkerton) Carson, Dylan (Kelsie) Carson, Brandon Carson, Justin Carson, Travis Carson, great-grandchildren, Bailey, Rowyn, Braelyn, Jasper, Hawthorne, Sylvia; sisters, Juanita Crank, Betty Yeary; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn R. Carson.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 5-7 PM and a funeral service on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 11 AM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home; 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio, 43050. Burial services to immediately follow in Mound View Cemetery in Mount Vernon.
