MOUNT GILEAD — A Lexington man was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole on Thursday after pleading guilty two two counts of aggravated murder, according to a press release from Morrow County prosecutor Andrew Wick.

Charles Fink, 64, of Lexington, pleaded guilty on Nov. 25, 2024 to the premeditated and purposeful murders of Linda Fink, 69, the defendant’s estranged wife, and Robert Adams, 67, on June 5, 2022.

Common Pleas Judge Robert Hickson Jr. presided over the case.

“The Morrow County Prosecutor’s Office also extends its deepest condolences to the families of Linda Fink and Robert Adams,” Wick stated.

The murders took place in the 8000 block of Township Road 50, where the Finks lived. According to a 2024 story in the Mansfield News Journal, Linda Fink was shot four times, Charles Fink beat Adams to death with his fists.

In exchange for Charles Fink’s plea in the capital case, the state agreed to back off the death penalty.

Prosecutor’s also dismissed 15 other counts, including two counts of aggravated murder, four counts of murder, two counts of aggravated burglary, burglary, two counts of felonious assault, trespass into a habitation, menacing by stalking, tampering with evidence and a misdemeanor count of domestic violence.

“The Morrow County Prosecutor’s Office extends its thanks to the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office for their handling and investigation of the matter without which this result would not have been possible,” Wick said.

The case was investigated by Morrow County Detectives Rob Chalfant and James Coulter.

Representing the Crime Victim Services Office are Director Richelle Ettel and Assistant Director Ashley Sinden.

The defendant was represented by Kirk McVay and Earl K. Desmond.
