Susann M. DeShong, age 60, of Mount Vernon passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Knox Community Hospital.
She was born on February 17, 1964, in Mount Vernon to Glenn and Linda (McManaway) Spellman Sr. Susann was employed for over 28 years at Jeld-Wen here in Mount Vernon. She enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. But most of all, she loved the time she spent with her grandchildren and family.
Susann is survived by her daughters Nicole DeShong, Heather DeShong; her son Stephen DeShong; eleven grandchildren, Avery DeShong, Layla DeShong, Mea DeShong, Braxton DeShong, Myles Mastrangelo, Braylee Mastrangelo, Adalynn DeShong, Gavin DeShong, Maverick DeShong, Emma DeShong, Ava DeShong; and her sisters, Myra (Mark) Crilley and Kim (Tom) Daugherty.
Susann was preceded in death by her father Glenn Spellman Sr; and her brother Glenn Spellman Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home beginning at 12 pm with Mr. Tom Dea’Therage officiating.
