MOUNT VERNON — In partnership with Gambier Mayor, Leeman Kessler, the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County organized its second “Well Played!” program, inviting families and kids of all ages to play tabletop games in a fun, casual environment.
There are two more Tuesdays to enjoy this inclusive, participatory program, on Nov. 12 and Dec. 3 in the Main Library’s Multipurpose Room from 1 to 3 p.m.
“We’ll bring the games — you come ready to have fun,” the library stated.
Parent, actor, and mayor Leeman Kessler has loved board games since he was old enough to “liberate” them from his brother’s shelves. For the first time ever, he is sharing his large tabletop game collection with the Mount Vernon Public Library, with classics like Clue and Settlers of Catan, as well as new favorites such as Ark Nova and Twilight Imperium.
Library intern Jordan Schaevitz, who helps run the program, described it as “the highlight of my week!” and loved working with Leeman, who “makes every game so easy and digestible.”
This is a low-pressure atmosphere open to all ages and experience levels.
All Library programs are free and open to the public. Well Played is an all-ages event, but children under the age of 18 must come with a parent or guardian. Make it fun for the whole family – all are welcome!
Join in for a round, or stay for the whole time. No food or
drink is permitted.
