Wendell A. Winand, age 87, of Mount Vernon passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024, at the Ohio State University East Hospital in Columbus with his loving family by his side.

He was born on April 6, 1937, in Waterford, Ohio to the late Harold and Lucille (LaFever) Winand. Wendell was employed at Chattanooga Glass for over 30 years where he served as Union President for many years. He later worked for First Knox National Bank. He enjoyed hunting, going to the casino, and was an Ohio State University and Cleveland Indians fan. But most of all, Wendell loved the time he spent with his family and close friends.

He is survived by his son Stan Winand; two grandchildren, Sarah Hines, Brian Winand; five great-grandchildren, Zoey Mason, Zandria Hines, Zaida Hines, Oliver Winand and Zeken Hines; and his great-great-granddaughter Sage.

In addition to his parents, Wendell was preceded in death by his wife Janet Winand; and his brother Wilford Winand.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, in Liberty Chapel Cemetery beginning at 1pm with Pastor Marvin Haught officiating.
