MOUNT VERNON — Eighteen people received felony sentencings in September in Knox County Common Pleas Court.
11 sentenced on Sept. 12
Deon Boyd Jr., of Hempstead, New York, was sentenced to one year of monitored time subject to the supervision of the adult court services on a receiving stolen property conviction.
Jayden Dewyze, of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to two years of community control on an attempted conviction with a forfeiture specification. Dewyze was ordered to serve 180 days in the county jail with 162 days credited to be suspended if Dewyze completes the West Central Community Based Correctional Facility Treatment Program, among other requirements.
Donald Morris Jr., of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to an 18-month prison sentence on a violating-a-protection-order conviction. Morris Jr. was given 73 days credit toward his sentence.
Mary Boubary, of Fredericktown, was sentenced to two years of community control on an aggravated possession of drugs conviction.
Joseph Thomas, of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to one year of community control. Thomas must forfeit one Smith & Wesson 9mm to the Mount Vernon Police Department on a having weapons while under disability conviction with a forfeiture specification.
William Kislingbury, of Canton, was sentenced to two years of community control, serve 180 days in the county jail with 13 days served, and suspended if Kislingbury successfully completes a treatment program, among other requirements. Kislingbury was convicted of violating a protection order.
Jeremy Coffing, of Butler, was sentenced to two years of community control and must forfeit one Remington 870 Express, one hi-point 9mm carbine model 995 and sccy cpx-2 9mm to the Mount Vernon Police Department. Coffing was convicted on three charges of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, with forfeiture specifications on each count.
Hilary Myers, of Columbus, was sentenced to two years of community control, serve 180 days in the county jail with credit for 87 days served, to be served concurrently with the sentenced imposed in No. 21CR05-0098. Myers was convicted on aggravated possession of drugs and attempted charges.
Brian Fowler, of Utica, was sentenced to serve one year of monitored time, serve 30 days in the county jail on count one with one day served. Serve 30 days in the county jail on count two credit for one day served and serve 180 days in the county jail on count three with credit for one day served. These sentences will be served concurrently. Fowler’s jail time will be suspended on the condition he doesn’t commit a jailable offense within one year. Fowler was convicted on criminal damaging, criminal trespass and aggravated possession of drugs.
Brandon King, of Howard, was sentenced to two years of community control, among other requirements for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, attempted, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle, with forfeiture specifications.
Jonathon Fraker, of Centerburg, was sentenced to one year of community control, among other requirements, on an attempted conviction.
7 sentenced on Sept. 26
Brian Moroney, of Ashland, was sentenced to a seven-year prison term with a maximum of 10 1/2 years on an unlawful sexual conduct with a minor conviction. Moroney was given credit for 218 days served toward his sentence. Moroney was determined to be a tier III sex offender/child victim offender registrant.
Angela Barnes, of Newark, was sentenced to one year of community control, among other requirements, on an aggravated possession of drugs conviction.
Michael Cosner, of Howard, was sentenced to serve a mandatory six year indefinite prison sentence with a maximum of nine years on an aggravated possession of drugs conviction. Cosner was given 205 days served toward his sentence.
Brandon Mallon, of Marengo, was sentenced to a mandatory indefinite prison term of six years with a man of nine years on an aggravated possession of drugs conviction. Mallon was ordered to one-year on the firearm specification to the same conviction, to be served consecutive and prior to the indefinite term on count one. Mallon was also sentenced to a 24-month definite prison term on count four, to be served consecutively on the sentence imposed on count one and consecutively to the sentence imposed on the firearm specification, for a minimum nine-year term to 12 years. This sentence is to be served concurrently with the sentence imposed in Morrow County Common Pleas Court, State of Ohio vs. Brandon Mallon. Mallon was given 177 days credit toward his sentence. He was ordered to forfeit the Ruger SR40C to the Mount Vernon Police Department. Mallon was issued a 20-year class two operator’s license suspension. Mallon was also ordered to pay $12,050 in restitution to Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
Cory Cunningham, of Newark, was sentenced to a 5-year indefinite prison term with a max of 7 1/2 years on an improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation conviction. Cunningham was also sentenced to a 30-month definite prison term on an obstructing justice conviction, to be served concurrently with count one. Cunningham was given credit for 126 days served toward his sentence.
Breanna Davis, of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to two years of community control, among other requirements, on an aggravated possession of drugs and possessing drug abuse instruments convictions.
Dylan Kipp, of Mount Vernon, was sentenced to an 18-month prison sentence on an aggravated possession of drugs conviction. Kipp was given 116 days credit toward his sentence.
