FREDERICKTOWN — Fredericktown Board of Education approved the district to seek bids for the bus garage expansion project.
The board also approved $800,000 for the project on Tuesday — with estimates around $730,000 to $740,000, treasurer Heather Darnold said.
The estimates came from design and engineer firm Fanning Howey, Darnold said.
Superintendent Gary Chapman said hopes to have a bid package by October’s board meeting.
The bus garage is in need of expansion due to only having one busy bay, among other needed repairs, Chapman said at a July board meeting.
Approximately 945 square-feet will be added to the west side, expanding the restroom and creating a second maintenance bay.
Renovations are planned for the roof along with heating and electrical upgrades.
Also at Tuesday’s meeting, the board waived student fees for the 2024-25 school year, totaling around $22,000, Chapman said.
