Wendy Swihart, 60, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center.

She was born on May 4, 1964, in Mount Vernon to David C. and Joyce (Snow) Swihart.
Wendy graduated from Fredericktown High School in 1982. Where she was a member of the choir, band and a piano accompanist. She also played volleyball.

She was skilled with making crafts, especially beautiful plastic canvas items which she sold at numerous craft shows and farmers markets.

Wendy loved going to Alaska on vacation and caught a 45-pound king salmon on the Kenai River and a 115-pound Halibut in the ocean near Homer.

She was a previous member of the Dogwood Blossoms, Sweet Adelines Barbershop Chorus. Wendy was a member of Palmyra Church of Christ.

Wendy had worked for Aetna Healthcare since March 2, 1992. Spending the whole 32 years processing medical claims.

She is survived by her parents, siblings, Pam (Larry) Squires of Fredericktown, Douglas (Tammy) Swihart of Mount Vernon, Rebecca (Shann) Bocock of Mason, Ohio and Darrell Swihart of Mount Vernon; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and great-nieces and nephews.

Wendy was preceded in death by nephew, Lincoln Squires.

Per Wendy’s wishes, there will be no public services. A private graveside service will be held in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.
