MOUNT VERNON — Buyers were generous and smiles wide as the 2024 Sale of Champions brought in $98,700 on Thursday.
The proceeds topped last year’s revenue of $95,800. Auctioneers John P. Ruckman and Steve Jagger led the action.
The total sale number will not be available for several days. Following are the results from the Junior Fair Sale of Champions.

Anniversary auction
To commemorate the fair’s 175th anniversary, the Knox County Fair Board auctioned 10 plates made by Tammy Mowery.
The auction brought in $3,200 for the Junior Fair. The following are the buyers:
