Carla D. Hoskins, age 70, of Mount Vernon passed away at her home on Saturday, July 20, 2024.
She was born on December 27, 1953, in Columbus, Ohio to the late William and Viola Mae (Caldwell) Gatewood. Carla was employed for many years at Walmart where she was a Cashier Service Manager. She enjoyed keeping up on political news and all the conspiracies theories, learning and studying monarchy lines of her Scottish heritage, costume epics like Pride and Prejudice books, and antique furniture. She also enjoyed Lounge singing for over 20 years.
Carla is survived by her husband Ray Bloodwyn; her daughter Amy Bloodwyn; her son Larry Hoskins; three grandchildren, Morgan Hoskins, Donovan Parker Hoskins, Artimus Bloodwyn; her sisters, Ruth Tellings, Roberta Gatewood; and her canine and her beloved pets.
In addition to her parents, Carla was preceded in death by her brothers, Buddy, Thomas and Richard Gatewood; and her sister Loretta Needs.
Friends may call on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home from 5-6pm. A memorial service will follow, beginning at 6pm, with Pastor Marvin Haught officiating.
