Harry E. Heagren, age 88, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024, at the Country Court Nursing Home in Mount Vernon. He was born on November 18, 1935, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, the son of Harry C. and Alma (Grierson) Heagren. Harry proudly served in the United States Army 89th Infantry Division.
Harry retired in 1999 after many years of employment with Cooper Bessemer and the Ariel Corporation of Mount Vernon. He was a member of the Grove Church of Christ and enjoyed woodworking and taking care of his vegetable garden. Most of all, Harry loved being around his children and grandchildren, and their activities.
He is survived by his children, Kimberly Hill of Fredericktown, Robert (Regina) Heagren of Mount Vernon, Debbie (David) Rozanski of Swedesboro, New Jersey, Larry Bower of Mount Vernon, Tom (Connie) Bower of Gambier, eight grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and a brother, Dr. Donald (Barbara) Heagren of North Carolina.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dolores (Sprague) Heagren, a son, Keith Bower, a great-grandson, Lucas Heagren, two brothers, Merrill Monk and Barry Heagren, and a sister, Betty Ellen Barnett.
The family will observe a private graveside with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council in Union Grove Cemetery. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Harry E. Heagren.
