Inamarie Curtis, 83, Mount Vernon passed away on Tuesday evening, July 2, 2024 at her home.  She was born on May 14, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Barclay and Alice Belle (Mowery) Walker.

Inamarie graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1959.  She attended Ohio State University for 2 years studying Fine Arts.  Inamarie earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a master’s degree in Education while she lived in California.  Over the years, she worked at various psychiatric hospitals and rehabilitation centers, and she taught at several schools also. She enjoyed teaching and playing Mahjong.

Inamarie was a member of the Saint John the Baptist Parish attending Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon.  She was also a member of the Red Hatters.

Inamarie is survived by her son, Charles H. (Kathy) Banning III; a daughter, Davina Curtis; grandson, Drew (Tabitha) Banning; a great grandson, Jayce Banning; and a special friend and caregiver, Robin Leindecker.  The immediate family is very grateful and thankful for family friend and longtime in-home care provider, Tonya Schrienk. 

In addition to her parents, Inamarie was preceded in death by a son, John Mark Banning; a grandson, Chad Banning; and a brother, Stephen Walker.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev Father P.J. Brandimarti as the Celebrant.
