MOUNT VERNON — The annual CES Concert Night for the Community, hosted by CES Credit Union, will feature two of the top regional country music acts in Ohio.

Slated for Saturday, Sept. 14, this free and open-to-the-community event will take place at the Schnormeier Event Center at Ariel Foundation Park. This will be the second time CES Credit Union has brought a free community concert to the venue.

The Simba Jordan Band, a country music act from Columbus, will open the evening at 6:30 p.m. The band has performed as the pre-party act for major artists, including Garth Brooks, Jason Aldean, and Blake Shelton, and has played for audiences at the Buckeye Country Superfest.

Jordan promises to bring a high-energy performance to the Schnormeier Event Center and perform songs that will bring people to their feet.

The headliner for the CES concert night, taking the stage at approximately 8 p.m., will be Nashville Crush, a five-member band from western Ohio that “presents a perfect balance of Country and Rock music.”

Known for its high-energy, award-winning stage show, Nashville Crush performs for audiences of all ages. For 16 years, Nashville Crush has performed at some of the biggest clubs, festivals, and fairs in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, and beyond. It is known as one of the best live bands around.

“We are tremendously proud to bring these top regional acts to perform here and make it a free event for everyone. This concert is one way we can thank the community and our members for supporting the success of CES Credit Union for over 72 years since our founding in Mount Vernon,” said Sandy Coffing, CEO of CES Credit Union.

About CES Credit Union

A not-for-profit financial cooperative, CES Credit Union serves everyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in eight Ohio counties: Ashland, Coshocton, Delaware, Holmes, Knox, Licking, Morrow, and Richland. Its service centers are in Mount Vernon, Coshocton, Delaware, Loudonville, and Utica.

James McLaughlin, CES Credit Union’s marketing director, said the company is building on the success of last year’s concert event.

“Last year we wanted to highlight CES Credit Union’s appreciation to the community in a fun and exciting way. Our concert with North to Nashville and Derek Posey in 2023 went perfectly and brought in a crowd ready to have some good, clean fun on a Saturday evening.

“This year will be just as fun, and we’ll keep building on that momentum.”

The event is free, and the community is welcome to attend. Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged, and there are plenty of great viewing spots in and around the Schnormeier Event Center. This is a non-alcoholic event.

John Schwab Entertainment and Mount Vernon Arts Consortium assisted with booking the performers and venue. Food trucks will be available at the venue, arranged by Knox Foodies. Parking is available in surface lots around the Schnormeier Event Center and Ariel-Foundation Park. The park is a brief walk south of downtown Mount Vernon.
