Andrew Barnett, born on July 21, 1970, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024, at the age of 53. Andrew was a simple man with a big heart, whose greatest joys in life came from the simplest of pleasures.
Andrew was a devoted fan of the Michigan Wolverines, passionately following their games and always cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm. His love for food was well-known among his friends and family, and he never missed an opportunity to share a good meal with those he loved.
Andrew was a great athlete he was a fullback for Carey high school. His number was 45, he got to play along side his brother Porky. He was a very well known player, Loved by many. Although Andrew lived in Mount Vernon, he faithfully made the trip back to his hometown of Carey to watch the football games. He was fortunate enough to watch Carey win a state title and Michigan win a national title.
Above all, Andrew cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. His warmth, kindness, and genuine nature made him a beloved figure in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Andrew’s legacy is one of love, simplicity, and the deep connections he fostered with the people around him.
Andrew is survived by his Wife Ranae Barnett; Brothers Chuck Heffelfinger, Rusty Heffelfinger, Butch Heffelfinger; Sister Bev Walton; And life long friend Eric Everhart, and Danny Denny.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Breanna Barnett; Sisters Cheryl Leeth, Kathy Landrom, Lisa Krenzli; Brother Mike Barnett; And his parents Tom and Marilyn Barnett and 14 Nieces and Nephews.
A celebration of Andrew’s life will be held at Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, located at 201 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050, on Monday June 3rd from 6 to 7 PM. Friends and family are invited to come together to remember and honor a man who brought so much joy and love into their lives.
