Mary E. Tier

It is with much sorrow, as it is always difficult to say goodbye to someone we love, that family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Mary Tier (Mount Vernon, Ohio), who passed away at 89 on Thursday, March 28 in her home.
Mary was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio to Paul J Sr & Mildred Poland. She attended Mount Vernon High School and went on to receive a degree in nursing working in various skilled nursing facilities in Mount Vernon over the years.
She was predeceased by her husband William K Tier (Bill) and her brothers Paul Poland, Jr., James Poland, and Al Poland.
She is survived by her children, Karen Malone (Greg), Kimberly Carpenter (Jeff), Douglas Tier, Tracey Petkovic (Dan), and Wendy Reid (Todd). She is also survived by grandchildren, Lindsay Moore (Barry), Curtis Carpenter (Tara), Stephanie Araujo (Mike), Maddux Eylander (Nathan), Mia and Montana Reid, Hadley Petkovic, and six great grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made in Mary’s name to the Knox County Humane Society-Cat Shelter. Condolences can be left in Mary’s online guestbook.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at a later announced date.
