MARTINSBURG — Some call it a Hoot-N-Anny, others say it’s an Old Fashioned Community Hoedown Square Dance.

Still others call it a Down home Country Dance Party.

Call it what you want, know that you are invited!

The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 6 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Martinsburg Activity Center on Ohio 62 in Martinsburg (just 7 miles north of Utica).

Eddie Powell will bring the music and party atmosphere featuring squares (taught before calling each dance), lines, mixers, and even a slow dance or two.

This great bonding time with friends, families, entire communities as all dance to the music.

Literally, this is the most fun you can have with your boots on!

“Square dances are the original social network where friends and families would come to meet, share good times with each other, in a clean social atmosphere focused on FUN,” Powell said.

The square dances at Martinsburg host a large cross-section of folks including high school and college, up to valued seniors, all on the dance floor sharing their swinging good time.

First Saturday in April and May features Powell while Third Saturdays in these months features Brenda Sue and her live band. All dances are 7 to 10 p.m.

You are encouraged to bring your friends and join in the fun.
