James “Jim” Puffenbarger, age 77, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at his home surrounded by family.
He was born on September 26, 1946, in Mount Vernon to the late Raymond Franklin and Sarah (Stump) Puffenbarger.
Jim enjoyed mowing, spending time with his family, watching his nieces play softball, and teaching the kids how to drive!
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jody and Alan Oswalt of Mount Vernon; sister, Sarah Morgan of Nevada, brother-in-law, Larry (Cheryl) Stringfellow of Granville; sister in laws, Judy Stringfellow of Mount Vernon, Lois Stringfellow of Fredericktown, nieces and nephews, Erin (Andy) Simmons, Jackie Stringfellow, Debbie Fields, Diane (John) Tucker, Sherri (Shawn) Pembrook, Shane Stringfellow, Larry (Jen) Stringfellow Jr., Christine Stringfellow and Tommy Stringfellow, great nieces, Alexis Stringfellow and Andrea Simmons (aka – Fred).
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Jo Puffenbarger in 2022, along with two brothers-in-laws, George and Charles Stringfellow.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 – 12:00 noon in Amity Cemetery.
The Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel is handling the services for the Puffenbarger family.
