DANVILLE — Road repairs for Danville Amity Road are at a standstill as bids for the needed project weren’t returned.

The road has been known for its potholes, with residents pondering when the road connecting Howard and Danville would be repaired.

Bid openings for the Danville Amity project were May 23. But there were no bids returned, County Engineer Cameron Keaton said.

“I plan to rebid the project this fall of 2023,” Keaton said. “We continue to patch the roadway until it can be replaced.

“At this point, the project would not take place until Spring 2024 – that’s if we can get contractors to bid on the project.”

The project was broken into three phases, with the $2.8 million Phase 1 covering Skyline Drive east to Richards Street in the village.

The project is being 100% funded by the Ohio Department of Transportation safety funds and the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC).

Improvements include widening and resurfacing the roadway, new pavement markings, signage, and guardrail.
