MOUNT VERNON — The Knox County Republican Party invites the community to attend its monthly Chairman’s Reception Tuesday, May 23, at Mazza’s Restaurant at 6 pm.
This month’s guest will be former Congressman Jim Renacci, speaking on the issue of closed primaries and “party raiding.” Party raiding is the practice of members of one party voting in another party’s primary election.
Renacci is pushing for Ohio to strengthen its current election laws to secure the primary system and stop party raiding.
This free event is hosted by the Knox County Republican Party and is open to the public. Local Republicans are especially encouraged to attend as attendance supports the Knox County Republican Party and the party’s local candidates.
Free appetizers and a cash bar will be available, as well as a split-the-pot drawing. Doors open at 6 pm; speakers begin at 6:30 pm.
