MOUNT VERNON — Eleven defendants were found guilty after trials arraignments and hearings took place this week before Judge John Thatcher at the Mount Vernon Municipal Court.

JUNE 9

Allan Guardado, 36, of Columbus, was found guilty of Driving Without a Valid License and Speeding. The Court sentenced him to pay a $125 fine on the first charge and $25 on the second charge.

Lauralee Biddle, 24, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Driving Under FRA Suspension in two cases. The Court sentenced her to pay a $300.00 fine in the first case and a $300 fine in the second case.

Assistant Director of Law, Justin Mackin, represented the City of Mount Vernon in these cases.

JUNE 8

Jason Oldfield, 31, of Toledo, was found guilty of Assault. The Court sentenced him to serve 20 days in jail, with credit for two days served.

Daryl Hicks, 73, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Speeding and Not Wearing a Seatbelt. The Court sentenced him to pay a $25 fine for Speeding and a $30 fine for Not Wearing a Seatbelt.

Evan Johnson, 21, of Danville, was found guilty of Driving Under an FRA Suspension and Shortcutting. The Court sentenced him to pay a $200 fine for the DUS charge and a $25 fine for Shortcutting.

Brandon Butler, 24, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Theft, Criminal Trespass and Possession of Drug Abuse Instruments. He was sentenced to serve 50 days in jail on each charge.

Lacey Wilson, 24, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Endangering Children on April 27, 2021. Today she was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, and was placed on two years of probation.

Colton Pelton, 24, of Danville, was found guilty of Domestic Violence on May 7, 2021. Today he was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail, with 162 days suspended, and was placed on two years of probation: with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment as soon as is practicable.

Jack Young, 50, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Cruelty to a Companion Animal and Littering on May 4, 2021. Today he was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, and was placed on two years of probation with the following conditions: complete 30 hours of community service and not to own a companion animal for the Cruelty to a Companion Animal charge and to serve three days in jail for Littering.

JUNE 7

Brittany Hanna, 29, of Howard, was found guilty of Possession of Marijuana. The Court sentenced her to pay a $50 fine.

Randy Chafin, 55, of Marengo, was found guilty of Having Physical Control Over a Vehicle While Under the Influence. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: complete a drug and alcohol assessment as soon as is practicable, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Matthew Sharp, 22, of Fredericktown, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Gregory Chalfant, 25, of Mount Vernon, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 177 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following conditions: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program and complete a drug and alcohol assessment as soon as is practicable, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.

Brant Neitzelt, 22, of Danville, was found guilty of Operating a Vehicle While Under the Influence of Alcohol. The Court sentenced him to pay a $500 fine, serve 180 days in jail, with 174 days suspended, placed him on two years of community control with the following condition: attend and complete a 72-hour driver intervention program, and suspended his operator’s license for one year.
