MOUNT VERNON — Two Mount Vernon-area girls earned All-Ohio recognition this week when the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association announced its all-state teams.
Highland senior Raina Terry was a first-team pick in Division II. The standout hitter and defensive specialist led the Scots (25-5) to the Division II state championship game this season.
She led all Division II girls in Ohio by hitting at a .526 clip. She had 502 kills this season and 1,599 for her career, 18th in Ohio’s volleyball history.
In her four years as a starter, Highland finished 100-11, including 56-0 in the KMAC with four league titles.
Terry was also named an AVCA/Under Armour All-American last week and signed her official letter of intent to the University of Illinois on Tuesday night.
Fredericktown senior Kelsey Boeshart was an honorable-mention choice in Division III. The standout middle hitter helped the Freddies to a 22-5 mark, 12-2 in the conference.

All players who are awarded this distinction and awards will be handed out at noon at the State All Star Match slated for Sunday, Nov. 17, at noon at Wooster High School.
