MOUNT VERNON — The Mount Vernon girls soccer team will be gunning for a .500 record when tournament play begins on Wednesday night.

The Yellow Jackets are seeded 35th in the Central District after posting a 6-7-3 record, including a 2-4 mark in the Ohio Cardinal Conference.

Mount Vernon travels to 25th seed Delaware Hayes for the 7 p.m. matchup. The Pacers are the 26th seed.

In addition, four Yellow Jackets earned All-OCC honors when the girls all-star squad was announced on Tuesday night. Senior Emily DePolo led the way as a first-team choice.
