MOUNT VERNON — Ariel-Foundation Park will host its second annual Trick-or-Treat Trail on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
This event is free thanks to its sponsor Sara Mankins with Edward Jones in Mount Vernon. Additional sponsors include E-Merge Realty, Griffin Insurance and Tavaci School of Performing Arts.
More than 50 local business, organizations and churches will provide candy, game, and activity booths in the Schnormeier Event Center, so the event can be held rain or shine. Concessions will be available from Annie’s Concessions and Coffee Island Express. Smoking and pets are prohibited in the Event Center and in the fenced area surrounding the building.
Guest parking is available at the Event Center, at the Urton Clock House lot and on “The Lakes” side of the park if needed. An estimated 2,000 people were present at last year’s inaugural event. Please be patient and courteous as this is likely to be very busy. To help alleviate long lines, park directors are suggesting varying arrival times for guests based on family last name: A-H at 5:30 p.m., I-Q at 6 p.m. and R-Z at 6:30 p.m.
“We are excited to host another tremendous Trick-or-Treat event for our community and are very pleased that so many businesses and organizations are participating,” said Carrie Haver, marketing director for the park. “We have worked out some of the first-year issues to create a smoother event for exhibitors and attendees, and are thrilled to add a DJ to this year’s event!”
