MANSFIELD – Tickets for the events celebrating the 25th anniversary of the release of The Shawshank Redemption are now on sale.

From Aug. 16 to 18, travelers are encouraged to join cast members and other Shawshank die-hards in Mansfield to celebrate the 1994 release of the No. 1 movie of all time (IMDB) as they immerse themselves in the film’s iconic characters, sets and history.

Fans can now purchase tickets on the brand-new ShawshankTrail.com website by clicking on Event Tickets.

Tickets are now available for the following events:

The Shawshank Redemption movie screening, Friday, Aug. 16 at the Renaissance Theatre.

Actor autograph session, Saturday, Aug. 17, Ohio State Reformatory from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

Exclusive Shawshank Reception at the Ohio State Reformatory on Saturday, Aug. 17, 7 to 9 p.m. 

Self-guided tours at the Ohio State Reformatory will also be available throughout the weekend.

The Shawshank Trail was created in 2008 to allow fans of the film to experience self-guided tours of all the Shawshank filming sites.

The new ShawshankTrail.com website features all 16 filming sites, photo galleries, podcasts, videos, fan photos, lodging packages and souvenirs for sale. Fans are encouraged to share their photos and memories via social media for a chance to be featured on the site by using #Shawshank25 and following and tagging @ShawshankTrail on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

The new site also highlights a page devoted to the 25th anniversary celebration. Visitors to the site can also request a free printed Shawshank Trail brochure or view the virtual guide.

Friday night, Aug. 16, kicks off the fun-filled weekend with a special screening of the original motion picture at the Renaissance Theatre, where the movie originally premiered in 1994.

The following day, actors from the movie will be available to meet with fans and sign autographs at the Ohio State Reformatory, followed by the Exclusive Shawshank Reception cocktail party.

There will be plenty of free, non-ticketed events as well, such as the Shawshank Author’s Panel, Sunday Aug. 18 at the Ohio State Reformatory and self-guided tours of filming sites. 

The following actors are scheduled to be in Mansfield to meet fans:

Bob Gunton: Warden Norton, Shawshank State Prison warden.

William Sadler: Heywood, an inmate who befriends Andy.

Mark Rolston: Bogs, a member of “The Sisters” group in the prison.

Frank Medrano: Fat Ass, an inmate who befriends Andy.

Scott Mann: Glenn Quentin, professional golfer who had an affair with Andy’s wife.

Renee Blaine: Linda Dufresne, Andy’s wife.

Claire Slemmer: Bank teller at Maine National Bank where Andy mailed the black ledger and files of Warden Norton.

Alfonso Freeman: Fresh Fish Guy, a term that was used when a new prisoner arrived at the jail. He was also Red’s Mugshot in the movie.

Neil Giuntoli: Jigger.
