Crash Report

Feb. 24

  • Sandra Lee Neises was traveling north on N. Main St. and Cassandra Ann Smith was traveling east on W. Chestnut St. Neises had a flashing red light at the intersection and Smith had a flashing yellow light. Neises failed to stop and ran the red light striking Smith in the intersection. The traffic signals had been put on flash mode during the high wind conditions at that time.

Feb. 25

  • In a non-injury accident at S. Rogers and E. Gambier streets, Seth D. Uhl was backing on S. Rogers St. and Brittany N. Hershberger was stopped behind Uhl. Uhl continued backing sand struck Hershberger. Uhl was cited for unsafe backing.

Incident Report

Feb. 21

  • An officer was dispatched to Newark Rd. on a deer that had been hit by a vehicle and injured. When the officer arrived he found the deer and dispatched it with his service revolver.
  • An abandoned vehicle on Beech St. was reported to the MVPD.
  • An officer was dispatched to the 200 block of N. Park St. on a report of vandalism. The complainant advised while he was on a walk, someone entered his unsecured apartment and damaged a door that connected his apartment with another apartment in the building. A statement was collected. There is nothing further to report.

Feb. 22

  • At approximately 4:12 PM, officers were dispatched to Knox Community Hospital on a report of a male attempting to harm a nurse. When the officers arrived they spoke to the male and staff and determined the male should be placed under arrest for disorderly conduct at a medical facility. Written statements were collected and a report taken.
  • At 8:09 PM an officer was dispatched to a Coshocton Ave. business on a reported shoplifting. The complainant said a female had entered the business and stole alcohol. The officer was able to locate the female and charges were filed.
  • At approximately 8:30 PM an officer responded to a parking complaint on Prospect St. involving a vehicle with a previous four-hour wait put on it. The complainant said the vehicle had been parked in her driveway for a month and the owner did not respond to multiple requests to move it. The officer had the vehicle towed to the Mount Vernon City impound lot. Towing and storage fees will be applied to the vehicle before the owner can claim it.
  • At approximately 11:29 PM an officer observed a vehicle without tail lights on N. Sandusky St. The officer initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the operator, who was suspended. He was issued a citation for DUS and released from the scene with a valid driver.

Feb. 23

  • At 12:11 AM an officer responded to a Columbus Rd. business on a report of theft. A female advised the officer she had left her wallet in the store and when she went back to get it, it was gone. This investigation is pending and this report will be updated as it proceeds.

Feb. 24

  • At 12:53 PM an officer responded to W. Burgess St. on a report of a domestic disturbance. Written statements and photographs were taken. This report was forwarded to the Knox County Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office and the City Law Director’s Office for review.
  • At approximately 2:57 PM an officer was dispatched to Ridgewood Ave. on a report of several vehicles vandalized. When the officer arrived he spoke to the complainant who stated the tires on three of his vehicles had been slashed. A written statement, photographs, and a report were taken.
  • At 4:14 PM officers were dispatched to a S. Main St. business on a report of a theft. Officers spoke with the complainant who told them a customer who had just left had been shoplifting. The officers made contact with a male who admitted to stealing and returned the item. The complainant said they wanted charges filed against the male for theft. The male was issued a summons.

Feb. 25

  • An officer was dispatched to N. Norton St. in reference to a theft.

Feb. 26

  • Officers responded to a Plaza Dr. residence in reference to a male having a seizure. A male was issued a summons in lieu of arrest for possession of drug abuse instruments.

Feb. 21

  • Lilah Wolf, 20, Harrison Ave. was charged with possession of marijuana drug paraphernalia.
  • Brandi Byrd, 34, E. Pleasant St. was cited for starting and backing without safety.
  • Tonya McBride, 54, Homeless, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
  • Phillip Bentz, 50, N. Park St. was charged with criminal mischief.

Feb. 22

  • Susan Denuit, 36, whereabouts unknown, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • Douglas Blanchard,52, Danville, was cited for a license restriction violation.
  • Brian Baker, 35 Danville, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • Amanda Burton, 36, Johnson Ave. was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.
  • Phillip Bentz, 50, N.Park St. was arrested for disorderly conduct with persisting.
  • Dakota Walker,23, Stump St. was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead.
  • Jazzmika Lynch, 32, Shirley Ave. was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • David Workman, 41, Fredericktown,m was cited for DUS.
