Incident Report

Feb. 1

  • An officer was patrolling in the area of S. Norton St. when he observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of Foundation Park. A search of the vehicle found a clear jar containing a clear bag of marijuana.
  • At approximately 4:30 PM an officer responded to N. Division St. on a report of a disturbance. When the officer arrived he found the male locked outside the residence by the female. The officer spoke to the female who requested a report from a prior incident. The female was warned about her conduct and given information about the eviction process. Written statements were collected and a report made.
  • Officers were dispatched to McGibney Rd. in reference to a disturbance for the second time. When officers arrived they found Joshua Scarbury lying in the snow. Scarbury began cussing and yelling at the officers. He kicked one officer and generally resisted arrest. Officers finally had to deploy a taser to get Scarbury to comply. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Knox County jail without incident.

Feb, 2

  • An officer responded to Oak Dr. in reference to a drug overdose. The officer and the Mount Vernon Fire Department arrived and located an unresponsive male lying on the living room floor. The MVFD administered several rounds of Narcan and the male slowly became responsive. The male was transported to KCH to be treated. What appeared to be heroin and drug paraphernalia were discovered in the apartment and secured into evidence. This report will be forwarded to the Knox County prosecutor for charges.

Feb. 3

  • At approximately 8:55 AM an officer responded to Coshocton Ave. on a report of found drugs. When the officer arrived he spoke to the complainant who said a joint had been found in the emergency room. The item was logged in as evidence and a report was taken.
  • At approximately 11:03 AM an officer was dispatched to Howard St. on a reported theft. Upon arrival, the officer spoke to the complainant who said there were fraudulent charges on her Verizon account. A written statement was collected and a report made.
  • At 7:25 PM an officer was dispatched to the area of 100 E. High St. On a report of a male who had passed out. When the officer arrived he made contact with the male who seemed to be under the influence of drugs. The MVFD and BHP determined the male needed to be taken to Knox Community Hospital for an evaluation. The male then ran from the scene. The MVPD found the male and took him into custody. Charges were filed.

  • Melvin Fiske, 32, Frost Alley, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Jan. 31

  • Amy Smith, 48, Tiffin, was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.
  • Christopher Harman, 28, Gambier, was cited for expired or unlawful plates.
  • Cheryl Kimble, 75, Pine St. was cited for failure to control/weaving.
  • Cole Musick, 21, Newark, was cited for running a stop sign.
  • Shannon Harvey, 41, McGibney Rd. was cited for expired or unlawful license plates.

  • Brittany Wheeler, 28, Harcourt Rd. was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • David Workman, 41, Fredericktown, was charged with drug abuse.
  • Timothy Sarge, 25, W. High St. was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • Satrarah Bowles, 18, N. Sandusky St. was cited for driving under suspension/revocation.
  • Amanda Ross, 47, Locust St. was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • Kayla Thomas, 28, Frazeysburg. Was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • Jerry Sockrider, 28, Frazeysburg, was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.
  • Austin Tatman, 26, Columbus Rd. was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • Douglas Blanchard, 51, Danville, was cited for DUS and expired or unlawful plates.
  • Joseph Gibson, 32, E. Chestnut St. was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
  • Joshua Scarbury, 37, McGibney Rd. was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct intoxicated.

  • Frances Bowling, 36, W. High St. was charged with theft and drug abuse.
  • Kaleb Kirkman, Possum St. was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.
  • Kerry Hale, 55, Warsaw OH, was cited for running a stop sign.
  • Heather Best, 39, W. High St. was cited for DUS and FRA suspension.
  • Brittany Saylor, 29, E. Ohio Ave. was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.
  • Andre Plikerd, 25, Newark, was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.
  • Adrain Johnson, 31, W. was cited for no operator’s license.
  • She Skaggs, 27, Danville, was cited for DUS.
  • Richard Dodd, 32, Howard, was cited for driving under an FRA suspension.

  • Kyle Beaver, 25, Hewitt Dr. was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Crash Report

Jan. 31

  • Cheryl A. Kimble was traveling south on S. Edgewood Rd., veered off the road and struck a utility pole. After striking the pole, Kimble continued traveling and came to a stop near Park Rd. She was cited for failure to control.
  • Two officers responded to S. Main St. in reference to a non-injury accident. Cole M. Musick was at a stop sign on S. Main St. and Phillips. Dr. Abigail Buena was on Phillips Dr. and proceeded onto S. Main St. Musick failed to yield to oncoming traffic and struck Buena in the front driver side of the vehicle. Musick was cited for running a stop sign.
