KNOX COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

Dec. 21

  • An officer observed Dalton W. Smith walking in the area of the Pleasant Street School. After a brief foot chase, Smith was found hiding in a vehicle on private property. Smith was known to have an outstanding warrant out of the Knox County Court of Common Pleas. He was arrested and transported to the Knox County Jail.

Dec. 22

  • The complainant called to report that the companies business account had been accessed by unknown parties. It was determined four checks had been written off the account without permission. The account has now been frozen. There are no suspects at this time.
  • An officer observed Heather Peter’s vehicle traveling west on Columbus Rd. without working license plate lights. He also observed the vehicle go left of center multiple times. A traffic stop was conducted and Peters was arrested for operating a vehicle while impaired. She was transported to the Knox County Jail and released to jail staff.

Dec. 23

  • Deputies were dispatched to a Martinsburg business to investigate an unconscious male in a black pickup truck. Deputies arrived and determined Joseph M. Wheeler was operating the vehicle while impaired. Wheeler was arrested for OVI and transported to the Knox County Jail without incident.
