After the 1913 flood, most of Zuck’s buildings were either destroyed or damaged too badly for further occupation. The residents decided to abandon the town and rebuild their houses elsewhere.

Zuck once featured a low dam to collect water to power the gristmill seen in this vintage postcard image. The mill survived the 1913 flood, but was abandoned with the rest of the town soon after that.
